Awards and Recognition
T. Clay Wood Elementary celebrates student growth, leadership, attendance, and academic achievement throughout the school year. Recognition opportunities include monthly and quarterly awards such as Habit Hero, Exemplary Encore Student, Bring Up Grade (B.U.G.) Award, and Positive Referrals, as well as end-of-year honors such as Perfect Attendance, Excellent Attendance, Timberwolf Leadership Award, Wolf Pack Award, Honor Roll, Principal’s Honor Roll, and special fifth-grade awards.
Student Birthday Celebrations
Student birthdays are important, and T. Clay Wood recognizes them in ways that support student wellness and minimize classroom disruption. Birthdays may be recognized on morning announcements, and students receive a special birthday bookmark and office card during their birthday month. Families may choose from a variety of non-food celebration options, and any classroom birthday treat should be coordinated with the teacher in advance.
T. Clay Wood PRIDE Award & Monitoring Form
The T. Clay Wood PRIDE Award recognizes fifth-grade students who demonstrate strong academics, leadership, character, and service. To earn this award, students must maintain a B average or higher, earn a Timberwolf Leadership Award, and complete 20 hours of volunteer service both inside and outside of school. The award reflects the school’s values of “We Work, We Lead, We Care, We Share.”
Student Expectations & Behavior Plan
T. Clay Wood’s Behavior Management Plan is designed to support a positive, safe, and respectful learning environment for all students. The plan focuses on the school-wide expectations of: Be Safe, Be Kind and Respectful, and Be Responsible and Ready to Learn. It also explains classroom and school behavior expectations, bullying prevention, tiered interventions, communication with families, reflection, consequences, and positive recognition for students who make good choices.
The plan also outlines behavior supports and consequences in a clear tiered system, with most concerns handled first in the classroom and additional support provided as needed through guidance, administration, or the school intervention team. It includes examples of expected behavior in areas such as the classroom, cafeteria, playground, bus, restroom, and hallway, along with examples of more serious behaviors that may require office referral or suspension.
