Attendance Information

• When a student will be absent, notification should be provided to the school before or at the start of the school day, when possible.
• To excuse an absence, written or electronic communication citing the reason(s) for the absence must be provided to the school no more than five school days following the date of the absence. 

How to report an absence

• Absences can be reported in ParentVUE the same day of the absence. See step-by-step directions below.

  • Parents/guardians can report a student’s absence directly through ParentVUE by following these steps:

    1. Log in to ParentVUE using your ParentVUE account.
    2. Select your student if you have more than one child enrolled in PWCS.
    3. From the menu, select Attendance.
    4. Select Report an Absence.
    5. Choose the date(s) your student will be absent.
    6. Select the reason for the absence (Pre-arranged absence).
    7. Add the reason for the absence in notes section. 
    8. Attach a doctor's note or document if you have one.
    9. Review your information to make sure everything is correct.
    10. Click Submit to send the attendance notification to the school.
    11. You should receive confirmation that your attendance request was submitted.

• Students who are not in their classroom/first period by 9:20 a.m. will be marked tardy.
• A student's tardy will be recorded as excused or unexcused based on whether the reason for the late arrival meets the excused or unexcused absence criteria outlined in the PWCS Attendance Guidelines.
